On Tuesday, May 14, Hawthorn athletes from Grades 7 and 8 travelled north to The Country Day School in King City to take part in a Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association Middle School Track and Field Meet.
Along with 13 other CISAA schools, Hawthorn participated in the full day of sports including long jump, triple jump, javelin, 200m dash, high jump, shot put, 80m dash, 80m hurdles, and discus. The track proved to be a bit slippery from the light rain of this cool spring day, but the girls forged ahead determinedly.
This event involved no ribbons or medals; participants kept track of their scores and tried to improve with each attempt. Keep striving, Hawthorn!
