About CISMF & Rehearsals

All Grades 4 to 12 students are privileged with the unique opportunity to participate in the concert and rehearsals of the Conference of Independent Schools Music Festival (CISMF). The music festival was created for celebrating music in a non-competitive way. Students from over 37 schools across Ontario come to sing and play music together during a three-hour concert at Roy Thomson Hall, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. This is an outstanding and unforgettable musical experience for both participants and their audience members.

Our students will learn the choral pieces during their regular vocal classes. The rehearsal and concert schedule is as follows:

1.    Grades 4-12 on Tuesday, February 6, school day
2.    Grades 6-12 on Thursday, April 11, school day
3.    Grades 4-12 on Friday, April 12, school day
4.    Grades 4-12 on Saturday, April 13 prior to the concert (time to be announced)

Please fill out this form by Monday, January 29, 2024 to confirm your daughter(s)’s participation.

Expect further details as the day of the concert approaches. On school days, transportation will be organized by the school, but on Saturday, the concert day, parents are asked to kindly drop off and pick up their children.

Please note that the CISMF organizers request that every participating student sign a consent form to indicate their commitment and is required to pay $30 to help defray the cost of the concert. For this reason, please make a payment of $30 per student to the front office by Monday, January 29, 2024. Payments can be made in cash or check payable to “Hawthorn School for Girls.”

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions in this regard.
We eagerly look forward to making music together!

Mrs. Magdolna Hamza
CISMF School Coordinator
