Supporting Mothers and Babies: Thank you, Frank House members!

Three Hawthorn School for Girls students in uniform smile and listen to the Executive Director of Aid to Women speak about what the organization does to help women

During the week of May 6-10, Frank House students organized Hawthorn’s Mothers and Babies Drive, with their House Leader, Chloe Matsuda, at the helm. They placed posters promoting this annual charitable event throughout the school and Chloe made announcements in the US Assembly and in Google Classroom, and teachers informed LS students at their Monday morning assembly.

Each day, students collected such items as non-perishable foods, baby food, feminine products, and gift cards offered by the Hawthorn community to support mothers and babies in need. People from all four Hawthorn houses were very generous with their donations, but Frank House members brought the greatest number of items and won the drive!

Chloe, Dani and Ceci personally delivered the items to Aid to Women on Thursday, May 23. Mary Helen Moes, Executive Director, thanked them for the four overflowing bins of donated items, gave them a tour of their facility, and explained how this important organization helps mothers and children.

This year Aid to Women celebrates their 35th anniversary of empowering women in the GTA and beyond – congratulations!
