Take Advantage of Fall

Take Advantage of Fall

Are you feeling down because of the changing weather and cold days creeping in? Well here are a few fun-filled fall activities that will brighten your day, pick you up, and get you into the festive fall spirit! Firstly, I’m sure most of you have tried and loved the seasonal pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. The problem is, it’s an expensive drink to go to buy whenever you feel that pumpkin spice craving. No more, I’ve solved our problem by bringing the pumpkin spice latte to you!

I tried a homemade recipe that tastes just as good, if not better than the Starbucks’s PSL without the high price and hassle. The ingredients are pretty standard; you most likely already have them at home. The latte itself only took ten minutes to make, and it was amazing. It tastes warmer, cozier, and homier than any store bought option. I even served it to my family, and they liked it just as much as I did. In the picture you can see the latte that I made at home, which looks just as delectable as the store-bought option.

Here is the recipe in case you want to try it out for yourself!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

  1. Add pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin pie spice, and milk to a saucepan and heat on medium low whisking to combine ingredients.
  2. Once mixture begins to bubble, add coffee and reduce heat to simmer.
  3. Continue to whisk until hot and steamy.
  4. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream and additional pumpkin pie spice.

Secondly, since fall is nearly coming to a close I encourage everyone to take advantage of it before it officially ends.  Here are some additional ideas to get you started:

  • Go to your nearest pumpkin patch or corn crop and enjoy exploring the rows of pumpkins or get lost in the corn mazes! Some locations around Toronto include: Downey’s Farm Market, Brooks Farms, Albion Orchards, and Reesor’s Farm Market
  • Pick a pumpkin and carve it to add some fall spirited ornamentation to your house
  • Go on a walk in the cool autumn breeze to clear your head or collect fallen leaves or pine cones to decorate your house with.

There’s still time to do all the festive fun-filled activities that are traditional to fall. So I hope these activities help you embrace Fall, with all of its changing weather, before it’s over!
