From JK to Gr. 12, Hawthorn students in #1 dress, faculty, and staff gathered in the atrium to celebrate the successes of our first term together this year. Following the singing of O, Canada and a warm welcome from our Head of School, Mrs. Flores, we gave pride of place to students who demonstrated outstanding virtues, those trustworthy marks of a flourishing personal and social life.

Next, Ms. Zupan, our Director of Academics, recognized each of our US students who have earned a place on the Academic Excellence Roll (95% and above) and Honour Roll (90% and above) this term. Well done, girls!
Chloe ’27, our Student Council Athletics Representative, gave enthusiastic updates about Hawthorn’s Fall sporting life. Our cross country runners were especially successful. Keep up the good work, athletes!
Victoria ’26, our Student Council President, and Cecilia ’27, our Vice President, gave much-awaited House Points updates. Kudos to… Frank House who are in the lead with 1133 points!
Special presentations from our Junior School, our Grades 6 and 7 classes, followed by announcements for upcoming all-school events, including Curie House’s Christmas Generosity Project, Hawthorn’s Advent Lessons & Carols and Christmas Nativity Pageant, our All-School Advent Excursion, our Christmas Muffin Monday with Seniors, our Christmas Luncheon, and… our long-dreamed-of Christmas Break!
We ended our day with the strains of a rousing rendition of our school song still ringing in our ears. Well done, Hawthorn students, and good luck in second term! You are each forever in our hearts!
