To strengthen students’ communication and leadership skills through practical experience, Hawthorn School offers the internationally renowned Toastmasters Programme to our Grade 11s. Through workshops led by guest speakers, students learn to evaluate their own speaking ability, prepare and deliver speeches, give impromptu talks, control their voice, vocabulary, and gestures, give and receive constructive feedback, and become effective listeners. We believe that Hawthorn students can benefit greatly from these invaluable skills throughout their personal and professional lives.
