Hawthorn gathered bright and early on the morning of Wednesday, January 21, to celebrate some very special people who raise us up with their love and care and guidance – our dads! We are so happy to continue with this cherished tradition of welcoming dads to join us for a complimentary sit-down breakfast with their child(ren) here in our spacious atrium before the start of classes. We were truly pleased that so many fathers and other family members could take time out of their busy days to take advantage of this special opportunity to bond with their children and connect with other dads in our school community.

Many thanks are due for Father Fest 2026 – here are just a few:
– thank you to The Kitchenstead who catered and served the scrumptious breakfast of homemade French toast, sausages, eggs, roasted potatoes, and fruit salad;
– thank you to our wonderful young emcees, Yuna ’28 and Amani ’28; everyone commented how professional and articulate they were;
– thank you to our choirs; the Junior School sang God Made You Special, and the LS and US choir members sang You Raise Me Up, accompanied by Ms. Kim on piano and Vicki ’26 on violin; all our guests were very moved to hear this beautiful song because it was directed to dads;
– and finally, of course, thank you to our dads; as our choristers sang so heartfully, ‘You raise me up so I can stand on mountains, You raise me up to walk on stormy seas, I am strong when I am on Your shoulders, You raise me up to more than I can be.’ We love you, dads!
