As we wrap up the year and prepare for our return in 2026, we are excited to share that we will be celebrating the birthday of St. Josemaria Escriva on Friday, January 9 🎉!
St. Josemaria Escriva was the founder of Opus Dei and whose teachings inspired a group of parents to establish Hawthorn School. This annual event is an opportunity for Hawthorn students and staff to come together, be grateful for our school, and have FUN!

Your child will be participating in a fun trip to Bowls & Blasters. Our Junior School and Lower School students will take part in some bowling fun, while our Upper School girls get to enjoy a bit of laser tagging!

In order to prepare for this day, the coordinator of Bowls & Blasters has requested

• JUNIOR/ LOWER SCHOOL: the shoe sizes of our Junior and Lower School students and teachers/supervisors to ensure that the correct bowling shoes are available to rent. Please submit one form per student by end of day Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Click here to submit the form

Supervision: The students will be accompanied and supervised by Hawthorn Faculty and Staff.

What to Bring: Students should bring their usual recess snack and lunch. No valuables (electronics, money, etc.).

Dress Code: Students must follow Jeans Day guidelines as outlined in the Student Handbooks. Please note that the venue is glow in the dark – white clothes pops more! Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable to move in. Running shoes for Upper School students is strongly encouraged.

Transportation: School bus

Cost to Student: None

Parents’ Consent: Your consent is assumed to have already been given for your daughter to participate in this field trip as per Hawthorn School “Permission for all field trips and excursions – Consent, Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk Form – 2025-2025.”
