‘Walking’ the Way of the Cross Together

Hawthorn Students prep for Easter

Thank you to our wonderful Student Council for organizing a special Lenten reflection, spearheaded by Yuna, ’28, our Communications Representative.

As we approached Holy Week, we wanted to provide our community with meaningful opportunities for reflection and prayer. To help us enter into the spirit of the season, we prayed the Stations of the Cross in the final week leading up to Easter.  A station was “announced” at specified times of the school day, along with a short reflection over the PA system. At morning, noon, mid-afternoon, and end of the school day, we ‘travelled’ the 14 stations, to pray and reflect on the Passion of Christ and the depth of His sacrifice. Junior School students said these prayers in the Chapel, Lower School students devoted their ‘Movement Minutes’ to them, and Upper School students took a few moments to pray the Stations during class during Holy Week.

Thank you once more, Student Council, for helping to set such a contemplative tone for our experience of Holy Week. We hope everyone continues to have a very blessed Easter season!
