On Saturday, September 21st, four Hawthorn students participated in Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s Girls Take Flight program. Volunteer pilots connected selected participants with the joy of flying in a free flight experience.
Sophia, Athena, and Adri were some of our students who flew in an aircraft. We had one student fly alone with a professional pilot who allowed her to take control of the aircraft for a few minutes!
The program did an outstanding job in encouraging our girls to open their horizons to the dynamic and rewarding fields of aviation and aerospace. Through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and inspiring talks from industry professionals, our girls gained valuable insights and motivation to consider these rewarding careers. Bon voyage, girls!
