The Hawthorn Junior Volleyball Team came into the postseason ranked #2 after an incredible season, and the stakes were sky-high as they set their sights on the championship.
First up on the playoff battlefield: Trinity College. This wasn’t just any match—it was a redemption showdown! The last time Hawthorn faced Trinity, they took a tough loss, but this time, our girls came armed with extra practice, determination, and a will to win. In fact, they were so committed to victory that they gave up their PA day for extra training—now that’s dedication!
The opening set against Trinity started off strong, with Hawthorn firing on all cylinders. The serves were sharp, the passes crisp, and the energy electric! But small mistakes started creeping in, and Trinity managed to snatch the first set away. Did our girls let that shake them? Absolutely not!
We huddled up, regrouped, and our coaches made strategic adjustments to the lineup. What happened next? Hawthorn came roaring back to claim the next two sets, sealing a spot in the finals. The mission for gold was still alive!
