Hawthorn Mathematicians Prepare for Contests

The Pascal, Cayley and Fermat Contests are designed by the University of Waterloo to give students an opportunity to have fun and develop their mathematical problem-solving ability. Created to be accessible both to those that have written math contests in the past and to those who have not, these multiple-choice annual contests can help learners build confidence and inspire them to get excited about math. Hawthorn Upper School students are rising to the challenge of participating in these contests on Wednesday, February 26th from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.

Grade 9 – Pascal

Grade 10 – Cayley

Grade 11 – Fermat

Most of the contest problems are based on the mathematical curriculum up to and including the grade level of each student.

We’re looking forward to a great math contest experience! Sharpen your pencils, girls, and best of luck!
