Caroling for Seniors

Caroling for Seniors

Bringing Christmas song and cheer to our senior friends at Greenview Senior Care Residence in Don Mills was the mission of our LS students on the morning of Friday, December 19th, our last day of school before the holidays. Students from Grades 1 to 7 lifted their voices and their hearts in song to share joy and friendship with 72 neighbourhood seniors who no longer live with their family.

Caroling from room to room, they gave out handmade Christmas cards, reminding residents that they are in our thoughts and prayers, and wishing them blessings and happiness in the New Year. They brought smiles to everyone’s faces with their beautiful singing, kind wishes, youthful energy – and their festive accessories worn overtop their school uniforms!

Thank you to Ms. Yu, Hawthorn’s Director of Character Development, and Ms. Sundararajan, Greenview’s Lifestyles and Memory Care Manager, for organizing this collaborative activity. Thank you, too, to Ms. Kim, for leading music rehearsals with our students, and to the parents who helped out with transportation. We were so happy to share these special Christmas moments with all of you!
