Hawthorn’s Gr. 5-8 Volleyball Team delivered a noteworthy season this year, and rightly deserve special congratulations on being 2023-24 U13 Division Finalists and claiming the silver medal in the CISAA finals. In a postseason letter to her team and their parents on behalf of herself and Coach Alfaro, Coach Alekseev writes:
While we may not have clinched the gold, in my heart, our girls are champions through and through. The youngest team on the court, we confronted numerous obstacles, from injuries to absences, yet every single player stepped up and contributed significantly to our journey to the finals. It’s a testament to our resilience and unity that we made it this far. I am immensely proud that every girl had the opportunity to play at least once in a game, emphasizing the importance of every member of our team. Each contribution, no matter how small, played a crucial role in our collective success.
