LS Closing Ceremony Rehearsal

LS Closing Ceremony Rehearsal

June 14th is going to mark the end of another wonderful year in Hawthorn’s Lower School with a beautiful Closing Ceremony.

Ms. Kim and Ms. Zupan prepared the students for this important annual event with a rehearsal on June 13th, reminding them about how to clap and cheer for friends at a ceremony, how to honour the national anthem, how to greet special speakers, how to receive a certificate on stage, and how to show attentiveness, confidence, and respect.

Family members who were present commented how surprised they were to see how well-behaved and orderly all the students were. One parent mentioned that she doesn’t often think about how we need to explicitly tell children to look people in the eye when speaking with them or teach them how to sit and walk properly in a formal ceremony.

Well done, LS students, and congratulations on your year of learning and growing. You’ve come so far and we’re so happy for you!
