On Wednesday, September 11, Hawthorn joined our school chaplain Fr. Eric Nicolai as he celebrated our first All School Mass of the new school year.
From our very youngest pupils in Junior Kindergarten all the way up to our Grade 12 graduating class, students gathered peacefully in the atrium with faculty, staff, and guests and were led in songs of praise and thanksgiving by Schola, our school choir.
Between the Latin chants of the Kyrie and the Sanctus, we listened to Fr. Eric’s homily which encouraged us at this new beginning to see that our lives are made for a true greatness beyond our impermanent circumstances with their inevitable ups and downs, and that lasting joyous happiness, satisfaction, and purpose lie knit within the very fibre of our being, in our divine DNA, that is with us always.
Let’s go forth together in greatness, Hawthorn!
