During our annual Mother-Daughter Evening on October 28th, Dr. Anna-Maria Poplawska joined our Upper School students and mothers to dive deeper into the topic of mental health. As a Toronto family physician, Dr. Poplawska knows that there is a critical need to offer help to the rising number of young people who indicate psychological distress in their lives. Using case studies as a tool for considering such problems as stress, anxiety, and depression, Dr. Poplawska led us in an interactive discussion about ways that we can be there for each other as we cope with the mental challenges of life, realize our abilities, and become a presence of positive, compassionate change.
Thank you for your passion for this important subject that affects all of us, Dr. Poplawska, and for guiding us so carefully and capably in how we can best care for ourselves and others in the inevitable times of trouble in our lives. We are stronger because of your help!
