On Wednesday, January 22nd from 08h15 – 09h15, Hawthorn welcomed Dads to our annual Father Fest, a special time for a tasty sit-down breakfast and conviviality for students and fathers from Daycare to Grade 12.

This celebration offers all of our students’ fathers the chance to join us in fun and friendship to kick start their day, take some extra moments to bond with their child(ren), and enjoy connecting with other Dads in the school.

A very scrumptious breakfast was catered and served by The Kitchenstead and included: baked french toast with syrup, housemade applesauce and blueberry jam on the side; broccoli and cheese muffin-tin omelettes; turkey breakfast sausages; roasted tomatoes, potatoes and sweet potatoes; options for those with special dietary needs. What a feast!

Following breakfast, there was a musical performance: the Upper School choir opened with The Blessing; the Lower School performed Angels’ Carol by John Rutter; and the Upper School Choir sang Blue Skies by Irving Berlin.

Finally, there was a photo booth where Dads and their daughter(s) could take photos together.

Father Fest is all about heartfelt thanks to all of our students’ fathers.

You play a primary role in your daughter’s education, and we are so fortunate to join you in shaping the hearts and minds of the young women of tomorrow!
