Welcome to our Senior Friends!

Welcome to our Senior Friends!

The New Year is well underway, and Hawthorn is continuing to meet and greet new and returning senior friends from our community at our monthly Muffin Mondays! Four new guests from St. Bonaventure Parish joined us at our most recent get-together on January 20th.

Here are some of the highlights: Emilia gave them a tour of our school; students served tasty refreshments; the Lower School choir sang Angels’ Carol by John Rutter; Mrs. Szalados played live fiddle music while students danced the Circle Waltz Mixer; students invited the seniors to dance with them – and all the seniors joined in!

One of the seniors wrote us the following note the day after:

I was delighted to have been there. Children are our future and any activity with them gives me joy. Everything was well organised: the ambience and the girls’ wonderful choir. The serving of the tea and treats was lovely. The violin and the piano accompaniment was very good.

The dance was the highlight. I had fun. I have been having problems with my knees being quite sensitive and I almost skipped the dance; however, I could not resist when I received a lovely invitation. How could I say no? I had so much fun. Keep it up.
