Grade 9’s and Spanish Exchange Students Jump In to Help Out!

Spring means time to start spiffing up our yards after a long, snowy winter, and both our Grade 9 class and our exchange students from Colegio Orvalle in Madrid were up to the task!

On March 24 the Grade 9’s went to rake the grounds at the home of an elderly couple with mobility issues. The students raked pine needles and pine cones, and collected four bins of yard waste.

Since they didn’t have enough time to finish the job, the following week our eight Spanish exchange students returned to the home to do their first service project in Canada.

After working for 1.5 hours on the property, they thanked Mrs. Lee for the opportunity to help.

Thank you to Mrs. Pietrobon and Miss. Yu for bringing community outreach activities such as this into our R.E.A.L. classes. Putting our hearts and hands into the spirit of service helps to make our lives and our world better!
