Hawthorn marked the start of the Lenten season of reflection and reconciliation with an all-school mass in the Atrium on Wednesday, March 5th. Our school chaplain, Fr. Eric, led us in this solemn observation, preparing our hearts and minds for the challenge of a journey of prayer, almsgiving, and fasting, as we walk together towards the hope and joy of Easter. The imposition of ashes on our foreheads reminded us of the dusty fleetingness of our earthly lives, and the promise of new life through the cross.

Thank you to the Senior Choir for their hauntingly harmonized Latin hymns with violin accompaniment. We join together to wish everyone in the Hawthorn community a blessed Lent. May it be filled with moments of personal renewal and fresh awakenings to the gifts that we can bring others as we grow in faith, love, and charity.
