Frank House: A Project in Generosity!

Frank House: A Project in Generosity!

From May 5th to 9th, Frank House led our entire school in a wonderful generosity project, the Mothers and Babies Drive. Leading the charge, Frank House Representative Chloe encouraged all of us to join together in support of local mothers and their little ones in need. She put posters advertising this annual event throughout the school and placed containers for each house in the Atrium for us to drop off our donations and gain points for our houses!

Throughout the week, we donated LOTS of essential items such as non-perishable food items, baby food & formula, feminine hygiene products, baby care products, and gift cards. After counting all the items, the following points were awarded to our four houses:

Nightingale: 233

Curie: 278

Frank: 498

Tubman: 881 (Congratulations, Tubman!!!)

One Tubman house member brought in a crib, which was worth a lot of points!

On May 27, Mrs. Pietrobon and Miss Yu went with the Grade 10 students to Birthright of Toronto in the Danforth to deliver all the items (close to 2,000!!!).

A volunteer gave us a tour and explanation of their work when we arrived. We were deeply affected to learn of the love, hope, and support that Birthright offers to women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. We are so happy to know that this international organisation exists and that, in our way, we can help them as they persevere in offering compassion, respect, and resources for pregnant women.
