Theatre Alive in the Lower School!

Driven by the energy and leadership of a select group of interested Lower School thespians, Hawthorn has recently taken to the stage in a brand new enterprise – a grammar-themed play! Adventure on the Planet Grammar was directed and rehearsed over the course of four months by eight highly dedicated and creative Grade 6 students, under the supervision of their English teacher, Ms Kim.

The actors’ enthusiasm and commitment culminated with play performances on January 22nd and 23rd in front of rapt audiences of Junior and Senior Kindergarteners. Laughter, surprise, and admiration filled the JS classrooms, along with delighted squeals of ‘We loved it!’ and ‘We want more!’. Who knew that grammar could be so fun?!

Congratulations and BRAVA! to the stellar cast in the roles of their highly entertaining and educational characters:

Emma (Narrator); Avriella (Noun); Icey (Verb; Conjunction); Livia (Adverb); Reyna (Adjective); Sena (Interjection); Eliza (Pronoun); and Maria, a new member of our troupe.

The audiences are calling for more, girls! We hope that you bring us many more theatrical Adventures!
